Conflict arises when a new building tends to obstruct the view of existing property holders. The shrinking spaces and the constant pressure of owning a property with a view of the waterfront, tends to create an ownership of the waterfront in the minds of the property owners. This is found be to the root cause of the conflict in all cases pertaining to the topic. Sales executives and property developers are seen to exploit this need in potential buyers by assuring them of an uninterrupted view while pitching for the sale. The prices of waterfront property are also seen to be much higher than that of property which does not enjoy the view, even when the proximity to the waterfront remains the same for both. A similar tendency is seen among owners of property that looks out onto rich greenery (Pastorino, 2012). The most interesting trend seen due to this phenomenon is a set of lawyers who are willing to file and fight litigation n court for the protection of the view to which the property owner claims to have rights which are being encroached upon by subsequent property developers or even neighbors (CFP View law, 2016). The resolution of the conflict is easily possible and there is usually no need to approach the judiciary for the supposed breach into an alleged ownership. However, this is a sensitive matter that needs to be looked into with finesse rather than insisting on legal formalities. Ugly, drawn out battles is not the solution and merely a waste of time and effort that are best avoided (O'Neill, 2015). The first step towards prevention of similar issues arising in the future would be the development of common laws that would ensure that wrong selling and allusions to ownership over the view are not part of the literature that is used to promote the property. While property developers would wish to continue the same, it needs to be stooped with a firm hand (Pastorino, 2012), (Billings, 2015). It would be best to conclude that resolution of conflict is a far better option than waging a war on the world at large over a minor issue that can be resolved to the satisfaction of all concerned parti es.
